Measurements in the clinical evaluation of patients with liver disease

Transplant patients, probably due to immune suppressive and steriodal treatment, may present alternations in Body composition, with reduction in BCM and increase in ECF. BioScan assessment could indicate such changes. Disorders associated with liver disease for which BioScan analysis  would be useful are related to excess total body water (TBW) and Extracellular Water (ECW) accumulation. Excess fluid accumulates ascites and odema, chiefly in the lower extremities, but can accumalate anywhere (anasorea).
